Testing in Progress, LLC
Psychotherapy

At Testing in Progress, LLC, we believe counseling is a collaborative process between you and your therapist.  We are committed to seeing you as a whole person rather than a list of problems to fix or a group of symptoms to diagnose.  You are the expert on you.  What you would like to gain from therapy will be the driving force of our sessions.  What gets in the way of you living the life you want?  Is it depression, anxiety, difficulty coping in stressful situations, frequently feeling anger at those you are close with, self-destructive behaviors, confusion about daily responsibilities?  Often people seek therapy as a last resort when things seem to be at their most dire, such as when faced with the loss of a relationship, problems with addiction, job loss, depression, or when past traumatic events interfere with the current ability to function.  Together, we will work to help you understand the relationships among you experiences, your thoughts and your emotions, and how those relationships affect your behaviors.  With this knowledge, we can bring your thoughts, emotions, experiences and behaviors together in a new, more constructive manner, which will ultimately help you to resolve current and future issues or difficulties without becoming overwhelmed or discouraged, but with the knowledge that you have the ability to overcome and persevere.

People seek therapy for various reasons.  We all lead complex lives, struggling to balance work, friends, family, relationships and our own needs.  This juggling can lead to stress, confusion, despair, anxiety and difficulties in our relationships.  Therapy can help you develop and achieve realistic goals.   It takes remarkable courage to examine one's life and even more strength and bravery to make changes to the thoughts and behaviors that will lead to a more satisfying and fulfilling life.  the work in therapy will not always be easy, but you don't have to continue to feel discouraged.  We are here to help you.  Change is always possible.
